Despite the long list of modifications, the chassis remains untouched. The old Mustang still has the stock shock towers, firewall, and full-frame rails. But the interior is transformed to go racing, with carbon door panels, a Holley EFI system, a fire extinguisher system, and a full containment seat like the one you would see in a next-gen NASCAR.
Purists may find this build annoying, but this LS-swapped Fox Body Mustang kills it on the drag strip. So much so that this year marks Baber’s third consecutive victory in the Drag & Drive class at the LS Fest East. Even better, he can still take the crazy but street-legal build for a spin on the road during the off-season.
