A video (included above) shows some highlights of the collection, which includes vehicles from well-known brands such as Aston Martin, Alfa Romeo, BMW, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Ferrari, Ford, Lancia, Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz, Rolls-Royce, and more. There are also cars from now-defunct, obscure brands like Alvis, Facel Vega, Matra, Monica, Moretti, Imperia, and Villard.
The auction house says the storage facilities where the cars have been kept for the past four decades were all dry but dusty. This means rust shouldn’t be an issue. Most of the cars are unrestored and original and have been started regularly by Mr. Palmen to keep the engines from seizing. Few people were ever allowed to see the collection, making this a well-kept secret.
