Fiat is paying homage to the original Nuova 500 microcar with a new special edition dubbed the 500 Collezione 1957. Limited to just 1,957 units in celebration of the year the tiny microcar was introduced to the world, the launch coincides with… well, nothing remarkable, as 67 years is hardly a momentous anniversary. Still, in that time, the 500 became an icon and spawned the cute modern hatch we know and love today.
Since the introduction of the new model in 2007, more than 3.2 million 500s have been sold, making the little car a pretty big deal. America may have fallen out of love with the 500, but a revitalized Fiat 500e landing stateside this year hopes to change that.
Sadly, the American market won’t be privy to this new special edition, which is limited primarily to the European market in cabriolet guise.
