Regarding electric powertrain capabilities, STLA Large-based models can use either a 400-volt or an 800-volt EV architecture, paired with batteries ranging between 85 and 118 kWh. The platform has a 4.5 kWh per minute charging efficiency, a 0-62 mph acceleration within the 2-second range, and a range of up to 500 miles. The flexibility extends to enabling hybrid and ICE powertrains, suggesting the upcoming Charger will get a rumored ICE option.
Speaking of which, Stellantis claims the new platform has the potential to outperform any of the existing Hellcat V8s. Efficiency is also considered during the development phase, with components like cabin heating/cooling system, steering, braking assist, and propulsion optimized to minimize energy consumption.
In addition, the platform also supports the brand’s next-generation electrical and software-defined vehicle technologies, including STLA Brain, STLA SmartCockpit, and STLA AutoDrive.
