Here in the USA, we get a special edition of our own, and it’s also dripping in STI upgrades, except here, they are not purely cosmetic. The BRZ tS arrived earlier this year with STI-tuned suspension, upgraded Brembo brakes, and slightly less aggressive exterior enhancements. Meanwhile, in Japan, there is an STI Sport model, but this is also somewhat underwhelming in terms of performance upgrades.
What we really want is a true STI variant equipped with a turbocharger, stiffer suspension, slightly wider tires, and styling that looks like it was penned by a manga artist. We saw a prototype of some sort of upgraded BRZ back in 2020, but nothing has come of it so far.
We continue to keep our fingers firmly crossed.
