As the camera pans away from the bar, we glimpse the hotel’s name, which appears to be Hotel Tasman. Then again, Kia could just be trolling us, as the entire video centers around what the automaker should name the new pickup. All the sports personalities think it should be named after them.
This could suggest Kia may still be looking for a new model name and is using the rumored Tasman name to confuse us. Then again, Tasman may be the chosen name. Either way, we will have to wait for Kia to confirm this officially.
So far, we expect the Tasman to arrive as a body-on-frame pickup truck. It’s possible the ‘ute’ (as Australians refer to them) will be based on the same chassis as the Mohave SUV.
The Tasman will debut in Australia next year, but the automaker is already taking expressions of interest from private and commercial customers.
