When using the fast-growing Supercharger network, the Model Y can recharge 162 miles of range in only 15 minutes. But then again, the Beta One offers a unique feature of charging almost everywhere, which can be expanded and generate “100% clean and net-positive power from the sun.”
The target price for the Beta One is $4,000, which could sound impractical given it adds 20 miles of range per day only – at least for now. Regardless, let’s give the guy credit for trying something new. Hopefully, he can develop the tech to become a viable option for EV owners, or perhaps somebody else can refine it. In the meantime, a plug is a more practical solution.
