Forged carbon fiber replaces nearly every black plastic element on the XM’s exterior, a trick that works better with a high-performance machine like a Porsche 911 GT3 RS. But let’s try to focus on the XM, painful as it may be.
These images show a new front fascia and lower valance, new wheel arch surrounds, bulbous new side skirts, and a humongous rear fascia with an oversized diffuser. A roof-mounted spoiler also appears, as does a subtler lip spoiler just below the rear windshield. Back at the front, the hood gets a huge accent that looks like an oversized engine cover, while mirror caps, door handle accents, a lowered ride height, and a set of forged aftermarket wheels complete the transformation.
Again, we’re not saying the XM has become pretty, but had these changes been applied at the factory, we wouldn’t have batted an eyelid.
