For reference, the ID.4 with the longest range can currently travel 275 miles on a charge; that requires the larger 82 kWh battery with RWD. Adding AWD with the dual-motor setup drops the range down to 255 miles, while the smaller 62 kWh battery model with RWD can only go 209 miles on a charge. VW says the 2024 model will be available in three trim levels (Standard/Pro, S, and S Plus) with the option of choosing between the small or large battery and RWD or AWD.
ID.4 models equipped with the smaller battery will continue to get a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment display. Upgrading to the larger battery pack rolls in a larger 12.9-inch screen with some notable improvements. These include a more intuitive climate menu, infotainment layout, and black-lit slider buttons that can now be seen at night. D’oh!
