After rolling out the U8 SUV and the U9 supercar last year, BYD’s unfortunately-named luxury sub-brand Yangwang has revealed the all-new U7 sedan on the Chinese social media site Weibo.
This is the rookie Chinese brand’s first-ever sedan, and based on what was shared about its capabilities, it wants to rival all-electric high-performance sedan big guns like the Porsche Taycan and the Tesla Model S Plaid.
Yangwang says the U9’s powertrain can produce over 1,000 horsepower. No exact output figures were provided, but the brand mentioned that the U7 will “push the limits of sedan performance.” The Chinese carmaker further claimed that it can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just three seconds.
